Miso Sake Broiled Tilapia with Sesame Seeds

Try this delicious crispy miso glazed tilapia. Eat it on it's own, with rice or mashed potatoes. This quick savory fish will leave you wanting more!

Equipment

  • Broiler Pan or Wire Rack
  • Fish Spatula
  • Whisk
  • Basting or Pastry Brush

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tbsp Miso Paste
  • 2 Tbsp Sake
  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tsp Hoisin Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Aminos Or Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 Lime Squeezed for Juice
  • 1 Tsp Sambal
  • 1 Tsp Hot Water
  • 6 Filets Tilapia Or any mild white fish
  • 2 Tbsp Butter I used Earth balance
  • 2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds Garnish
  • 1 Green Onion Chopped for Garnish

Instructions
 

  • Take a sheet pan with wire rack or broiler pan. Put aluminum foil under rack.
  • Start by whisking all your wet ingredients together until smooth.
  • Dip each filet into the wet mixture until fully coated. Place the filets on your pan.
  • Put in the oven on high broil for 7 minutes. Should use second rack from the top to avoid burning.
  • Take them out and carefully flip the filets over with a fish spatula.
  • Coat with more sauce. Put back in the oven for another 5 minutes.
  • With the remaining sauce add to a small sauce pan. Turn on low heat.
  • Add in 2 Tbsp of butter. Mix well. When the filets come out you can drizzle the rest of the sauce on top.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
