Tips For Making the Chili Lime Broiled Salmon
I find this is great for salmon but really you could use this on any fish. I just love how the fattiness of the salmon makes it all melt in your mouth.
It calls for honey for sweetness but you could also use maple syrup, mirin, brown sugar or sugar substitute. If it needs a little help dissolving mix in some warm water.
Same with heat. I like sambal because it’s thick and works well with sauces. Feel free to use sriracha if you don’t have sambal.
I like to use coconut aminos but you can use regular soy sauce or tamari for a substitute.
You don’t have to marinate it for a long time but obviously the longer you do the more flavor it will have. However if you are in a time crunch 5 minutes will do. I like to make the marinade in the morning, add it to a ziplock with the salmon and set it into the fridge until I’m ready to cook it. Talk about melt in your mouth!
I like to keep the leftover marinade and make it into a sauce for when the salmon is done.
Pour it into a small saucepan and cook it on low until it reduces while your salmon is broiling. Baste your salmon with some of the sauce half way through.
For easy clean up make sure to use aluminum foil on your sheet pan.
I use the broiler in the oven for this but I’m sure you could also put it in your airfryer at 500 for 5-7 minutes too!
Your salmon can stay in the fridge for up to 4 days!
