You want to start by mixing all your ingredients for you sauce together. If you don’t have sake you can use dry sherry or rice wine. If you want to omit alcohol even though there is not enough alcohol to have any effect on you. You can sub it out for equal parts rice wine vinegar and water.

When you broil your fish remember to lay down aluminum foil under the rack. This is 100% going to save you the headache of having to try and wash the burned on sauce when you’re done with the pan.

After you coat your filets you can lay them on your rack and pop them in the oven. Keep a close eye on them so they don’t burn. Every oven is different. While mine is 7 minutes to have a nice brown on top, yours could be 5 minutes.

I like using tilapia because it’s a mild fish that is almost always available and relatively cheap. Most of the time I like to get mine fresh at the grocery store but I also keep on hand some in the freezer if I stock up at Costco. You can use fresh or frozen. My choice usually depends on when I will be cooking it. If I can plan enough in advance to thaw the fish ahead time, I will you frozen.

Feel free to substitute for other white fish if tilapia isn’t available. Halibut, cod, grouper are all great substitutes. If your feeling real fancy Chilean seabass is where its’s at.

From a to b this Miso Sake Broiled Tilapia can be made within 20 minutes. It is sure to be your number one favorite fish dish.
